This year, Halloween fell on a cold, rainy day. Carson had been sick off and on for a few weeks already, but he seemed to be feeling a bit better, so we dressed him up and took him over to Trick or Treat with Andy and Katie's kids.
Carson was a little Yoda, and oh goodness, did he ever hate having the Yoda ears/hat on! But then he sobbed when I took it off later that night and has since brought me the hat frequently because he wants to wear it! haha! I couldn't get over how excited I was for him to Trick or Treat, and he even used the same Halloween bag I used growing up.
Sawyer didn't come out in the rain with us; he stayed back at Andy and Katie's with Alex. But all the same, he wore a cute little Halloween sleeper that kind of randomly had a tail on it!
Carson definitely had mixed feelings about the evening. He still wasn't feeling very good so he was pretty clingy. And at the very beginning, there was a house where the person came to the door in a gorilla mask, and Carson was utterly TERRIFIED! He made me carry him pretty much the rest of the way. (Oh, my poor back!)
But after a few houses, Carson started to enjoy himself when the people offered him a giant bowl of candy and he got to pick his own piece. He'd just get this giant smile on his face! It was so cute! There were several houses that handed out full sized candy bars, and that really got Carson (and his mommy) excited.
We didn't stay out too long since the weather was bad and my back was killing me from carrying him. But it was fun! When we got back to Andy and Katie's, Carson dumped out all his candy and was in absolute heaven! He kept playing with his candy and trying to open every piece! And when he got to have a piece then (and even still now), he gets so happy! "Can-deee!" he says!
All in all, it was a fun night, and I can't wait for many more Halloweens with my little munchkins! :)
